Christmas Card 2022
2022 was a year of celebration. We spent the year celebrating the wonderful life events of our friends and family: engagements, weddings, pregnancies, promotions, new homes, milestone birthdays, academic achievements… the list goes on! We are lucky to be surrounded by such lovely people that make it so easy to celebrate. We reached our own relationship milestone this year: 5 years of marriage. There are moments we feel like newlyweds and moments we feel like we’ve known each other our whole lives. It’s a sweet season of life that we’re holding on to and are forever grateful for.
Though our year has been abundant with blessings, we would also like to recognize that this year has brought loss for many of our loved ones. To you, our hearts are with you.
In 2022, we met our niece and nephews for the first time, donning the monikers “Aunt Jen” and “Uncle Tyler”. We visited Breckenridge, CO in March and fell in love with both the town and the sport. We’ve both skied periodically since we were little but this trip inspired us to dive headfirst into snow sports. The 22/23 snow season has us traveling to 5 mountains across 3 countries. We’ve just returned from the first mountain on the list, Steamboat Springs, CO. The trip was pure magic, days filled with skiing and nights celebrating Diane’s 60th birthday. Outside of snow, Jen visited Ireland with her friend Grace to overcome her corporate burnout. If you’ve never walked Ireland’s countryside, she cannot recommend its healing powers enough. Meanwhile, Tyler flew south with his friend Ryan and participated in lobster “mini” season in Key West, FL. They spent the days diving, catching, and cooking lobster from sunup to sundown. He’s hooked on the experience and hopes to return in seasons to come.
Burnout? How is work you ask? Well, we were both promoted! It’s been a long time coming and it felt incredible to finally reach the goalpost. Tyler reached 4 years with Convoy under the new, very exciting title… *drumroll please*…Software Engineer! Is this the exact same title he’s had since he graduated college? Maybe! Though the economy continues to consolidate, Tyler remains hopeful in the company’s charter and is enjoying the ride. Jen’s been with Amazon for 7 years. She was promoted to Senior Client Lead in July, and then promoted again to Recruiting Manager in August. Earlier this month, Amazon announced they would be laying off thousands of employees… with a focus in recruiting. We don’t yet know how this will impact Jen’s job, but we continue to push forward and focus on the things we can control.
Outside of work, Jen joined an A Cappella group in the Atlanta area and Tyler joined a soccer league. Jen’s inspiration for home renovation continues to spark every few months. We moved things around in the garage to make room for Tyler’s new electric Volvo. Becoming a two-car family for the first time in 7 years has been liberating.
Koda and Eevee continue to be the only kids in our lives (sorry parents). Jen and Eevee’s Tiktok reached a following of over 175,000 people! Koda is a bit camera shy but enjoys the many walks and dog parks throughout Brookhaven.
It’s a strange sensation writing the final Christmas card of our 20’s. Life moves fast, and through it all we continue to be so thankful for the love, health, and relationships our lives are filled with.
Many holiday cheers to you as we wrap up 2022
Jen, Tyler, Koda, and Eevee
